Smart Inbox
New messages will be organized according to their importance, in a folder called "Clutter". Similar to Gmail's Priority Inbox, the new feature is intended to separate emails from more frequent contacts that have more relevant content, based on a history review. The user can still manually move messages there, so that the feature improves over time, or you can turn it off completely if you prefer.
Enhanced search
When you search for attachments or messages in Outlook.com, an improved search engine will begin to suggest keywords and new ways to refine the search. There are several variables to apply, such as recipient, folder, date, and more. Content found is still highlighted on the screen with a color to make it easier to identify.
Customization

There is also news for those who like to leave everything with their face. Microsoft has released 13 new themes that leave the inbox completely different, with varied shapes, designs and colors.
Preview of links

The links are much smarter. Now when you receive a message with a URL in the body of the text, simply hover the mouse over to see a preview of the page in a pop-up window. YouTube and Vimeo video links are automatically embedded in thumbnail, making it unnecessary to visit those sites to view received videos in your inbox.
Images in body text

The new version of Outlook.com lets you insert images in the middle of a message in the most practical and familiar way of any user: copying and pasting. With this command, you can place photos in the body of the text, that is, without attaching them to the message, something that promises to give more agility to those who need to send this type of content.
Popup message window
If you want to focus while writing or reading a message or want to open more than one at a time, Outlook.com now lets you highlight them from the main page and open emails and pop-up windows with the click of a button.
Attached side by side

Open attachments next to the message, and in the same location, begin editing the document using Word, PowerPoint, or Excel Online. All changes are saved automatically and attached to the message response: the only job is to click "Send". Opening side-by-side attachments also works with images.
Fixing and tagging emails

As a way to further organize the inbox of those who receive many emails, the Microsoft service also offers flagship and message posting at the top of the page. Features are a great help to remember to answer an important message or create a task automatically - items marked with flags can be opened in a separate task list.
Add-ins
Add-ins in Outlook.com work like some extensions operate in Gmail. They can offer additional functions within the chat window itself, such as Bing Maps, My Templates and Suggested Meetings, which are already pre-installed. Others that are to come are Uber, Boomerang and PayPal, among others.
Integration with Skype and OneDrive
Skype and OneDrive are for Outlook as Hangouts and Drive are for Gmail. That way the Microsoft communicator can be accessed on the same email screen to start a chat and OneDrive will allow you to easily save attachments to your online account - with one click, the file gets a link to be shared on the go.
Enhanced calendar and mobile version

The integrated calendar has gained a number of usability improvements, making it easier to find and manage annotated appointments. There are now filters by name, guests, location, or any keyword entered in the description. Additionally, Outlook.com has gained an enhanced version for mobile browser access, including gesture command and add-in support.
The news from Outlook.com will be released gradually to users worldwide, primarily to Office 365 subscribers as usual, and obeying a list of requests whose details will be announced shortly.
